In keeping with our commitment to social responsibility, we are proud to spotlight Sanvaadha for their incredible efforts to bridge the communication gap for the hearing- and speech-impaired community in Sri Lanka.
Sanvaadha is a mobile app designed to aid communication for Sri Lanka's 400,000 deaf and hearing-impaired individuals using GIFs. It translates images and signs into words and vice versa, serving as a virtual sign language interpreter. Supporting Sinhala and Tamil, with plans to include English, this free, offline app features a vast library of sign language GIFs, a search function, sentence building, text-to-speech, and sharing capabilities. Developed by Sumaga Ruhunu Circle of the Deaf, Sanvaadha bridges communication gaps, fostering effective interaction between the deaf and hearing communities.
